This painting explores movement, growth and change. The image draws on the Gospel account in Luke of the infant Jesus being taken to the Temple by Mary and Joseph, and the encounter with Simeon and Anna.

The Little Gold Boat
The celtic boat or coracle can be seen as a symbol of journeying; the movement that is at the heart of faith. It reminds us of vulnerable trust through the stories of Brendan and Columba who risked all to carry a message of grace.
