The Coracle Trust

Spiritual Direction

Spiritual Direction

Offering spiritual companionship is a core part of the work of the Coracle Trust. This takes a variety of forms from 'formal' spiritual direction meeting at regular intervals to occasional meetings as particular issues, questions or experiences arise.

Some folk wish to explore different approaches to prayer, others to make sense of some of their life experiences, others to deepen their understanding through studying a book together. The purpose and principle of this ministry is to provide a safe context in which to deepen an awareness of and response to the ways in which God is at work in an individual’s life and how this is set in the journey of the faith community.

Our background in spiritual direction

We are both willing to meet with individuals and are also in touch with networks of others offering forms of faith accompaniment. Kenny’s experience has been mainly in the area of one to one discipling. Bridget has worked more in the area of faith accompaniment and spiritual direction over the last twelve years using a variety of approaches but having had training in an Ignatian understanding of spirituality and faith formation. She is also accompanying individuals through the Ignatian Spiritual Exercises (19th Annotation).

Bridget is a member of the Epiphany Group which provides supervision, further training and a code of practice for this ministry.

Both of us meet with our own spiritual directors and see this as a vital rhythm of reflection and exploration in our own life of faith and ministry.
